Test Overview

The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is a standardized test used to measure the English language skills of non-native English speakers. In many English-speaking nations, it is generally acknowledged and accepted by academic institutions, employers, and immigration officials.
The four sections of the IELTS exam
Listening
Your ability to comprehend spoken English in a variety of professional and academic settings will be tested in the listening portion. 40 questions and four recordings will be played for you to listen to. You must pay close attention and take notes because the recordings are only played once. You will be given approximately 30 minutes (plus 10 minutes' transfer time) to complete the task.
Reading
Your comprehension of written English in a range of academic and everyday situations will be tested in the Reading portion. 40 questions and three lengthy texts must be read and answered. The texts cover a range of subjects and have varying degrees of difficulty. You will be given 60 minutes to complete the task.
Writing
Your proficiency in writing in a range of scenarios in English is tested in the Writing part. You will be required to write two essays: one academic and one task-based. You will be given 60 minutes to complete the task.
Speaking
Your ability to effectively communicate in spoken English is put to the test in the Speaking portion. A 15-minute conversation with the examiner will take place. The conversation will cover a range of subjects, and the examiner will ask you to do a range of tasks, like describing a graph, expressing an opinion on a subject, or talking about a problem.
